My Background
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in French Language from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2011. After graduating I spent four years working in mental health and substance abuse treatment centers before I went on to attend Palo Alto University where I completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2021. My research focused on the LGBTQ cultural competence of psychologists in private practice. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology internship at the Sierra Nevada VA Healthcare System where I received advanced training in behavioral medicine, primary care mental health integration, neuropsychology, and PTSD treatment. Since graduating from Palo Alto University, I have additionally joined the adjunct faculty as an Adjunct Professor where I teach in the clinical psychology PhD and master’s programs. In 2023 I was invited to join the Alumni Council Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2024, I completed a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in affiliation with Feeling Good Institute in Mountain View, CA where I received specialized training and mentorship in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. I have since developed continuing education courses on the evidence-based treatment of OCD and continue to co-lead a consultation group for community clinicians looking to gain more knowledge on the topic.

As the Founder and Lead Clinical Psychologist, Kyle serves as the visionary and clinical backbone of the firm, balancing this dual-faceted role as a high-level practitioner with a dedicated client caseload while also maintaining the strategic responsibilities of growing a private practice. Kyle defines the therapeutic philosophy, oversees clinical quality, and leads the recruitment and direction of the psychotherapy practice. In his free time he enjoys fishing, gardening, cooking new recipes, playing the occasional video game, and spending time with his miniature poodle, Goose.
David Rouxel
Practicum Student | Part-Time
David is a trilingual clinician-in-training and researcher specializing in trauma-informed care, veteran mental health, and underserved communities’ mental health. He is a clinical psychology PhD student at Palo Alto University. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, David draws upon his personal experiences with adversity and recovery to develop innovative approaches for addressing substance use, combat trauma, and the challenges of reintegrating into civilian life. He has received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has interest in gaining further experience in treating anxiety and OCD with Kyle Jones, PhD Psychology.
